Manly Co-op

The primary deliverable for this project was a promotional how-to video designed to guide first-time customers through the shopping experience at Manly Food Co-op, from selecting produce to ordering at the counter.

Beyond the video, we developed a cohesive visual identity to support the experience. A rough, unpolished aesthetic was intentionally chosen to reflect the co-op’s rustic, DIY character, using warm colors, natural textures, and approachable visuals. The final result builds confidence, clarity, and trust while reinforcing the co-op’s focus on quality and community.

Visual Identity

The visual identity for Manly Food Co-op was developed to reflect the values at the heart of the business: sustainability, community ownership, and zero-waste living. We created a natural, grounded design system using shades of green, earthy browns, and textured elements inspired by paper and recycled materials.

A tactile, hand-crafted, and hand-drawn feel was carried throughout the identity to reinforce authenticity and approachability. This philosophy extended beyond the visual style into the design process itself, influencing how assets were created and applied. The result is an identity that feels organic, community-driven, and aligned with the co-op’s commitment to sustainable living.

Social Identity

The social identity was designed to emphasize Manly Food Co-op’s strong sense of community and shared values. Content was structured to feel welcoming, human, and approachable, focusing on connection rather than promotion alone.

Hand-crafted elements, natural textures, and organic layouts were used across social posts to create a sense of warmth and familiarity. This approach helps reinforce the co-op’s community-first mindset while encouraging engagement, participation, and a feeling of belonging among members and customers.
